Special Needs Children

“Some of the most wonderful people are the ones who don’t fit into boxes.”
PEARL Child Guidance Center – Beruwala

FLCF’s Project Offices in Ambalangoda, as well as the PEARL Child Guidance Centers in Ambalangoda and Beruwala, serve as key centers for implementing this program. They operate under the supervision of FLCF Coordinators and the Program Manager, ensuring effective management and support for program participants.

The ‘Special Needs Children’ program is a beacon of support for children with diverse abilities. This initiative caters to a wide range of differently abled children, aged 4 to 18. FLCF operates two Child Guidance Centers dedicated to this program, offering primary and preschool education, therapeutic interventions, vocational training, one-on-one services, computer literacy classes, yoga, dance, music sessions, and counseling services. Additionally, empowering programs are provided for parents, particularly mothers of special needs children, to address the challenges they encounter in their daily lives and enhance household economic stability.

Children identified with various disabilities benefit from the services offered at these centers, including but not limited to amputation, hyperactivity, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, myopathy, mental retardation, hearing impairments, visual impairments, hydrocephalus, and learning difficulties.
