Drugs Prevention Day

This is a drugs prevention counseling program held on 25th of January with the concept of 'Prevention of drugs' from President of Sri Lanka. Our purpose was to give clear explanation about the effect of the drugs usage. The program facilitated by Treatment, Rehabilitation & drug abuse resistance education officer in the Board of National Dangerous Drugs Control in Western Province under the guidance of FRIENDS LANKA Child Foundation. Our target group was teenager aged children and their guardians. And we could achieve it through 118 children and their parents. Firstly, she talked about the children's mind sets and what are the reasons teenagers to take drugs and what is the effectiveness of drugs usage. Through case studies and video clips, she explained that how to prevent use of drugs. Not only for children, it was helpful to parents get a right idea regarding drugs effects.
